Kobus Potgieter • Managing Director

Hailing from a dairy and cattle farm in Mpumalanga, Managing Director Kobus Potgieter grew up enjoying the great outdoors. Swimming in the river, motorbiking and camping with his family is the perfect balance to the day-to-day business he conducts on Hartenberg Wine Estate. 
Kobus has enjoyed wine since Varsity - soon giving him the nickname, Vino - and is proud of working on a wine estate with such a heritage of quality wine. He enjoys the team's positive  attitude, and credits wine as one of the key pillars of the South African tourism business. Kobus worked with dynamic brands before joining Hartenberg in September 2013, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge.
He cites his favourite meal as a good rump steak marinated in Wellington's Steakhouse sauce, braaied and served with Susan's, his wife's, summer salad and the Hartenberg Shiraz/ Cabernet sauvignon/ Merlot.
Always dreaming of new adventures, he would love to experience a wine vintage in Bordeaux or Alsace and visiting the Masai Mara, and other Kenyan and Tanzanian parks.
